Collected by us = none

No account exists to open, so no name, address or email is ever asked for. The advertising identifier and the Android ID go unread. There is no analytics library in the build, no crash reporter, and no code path that would let one appear without a new release. Treecalc has no notion of who is using it — only of a device that has evaluated some expressions.

This is not a promise about restraint. The application does not hold the INTERNET permission, and Android will not open a connection for an app that never asked for one. Collection would require somewhere to send the collected thing, and there is nowhere.

Kept on your device = four things

Everything Treecalc remembers is written into the private folder Android hands each application, which the rest of your phone cannot open. Four leaves hang off this branch:

• Calculation history

  Every expression you have evaluated, kept so it can be searched and revisited. Arithmetic, not autobiography — though it is yours, and it stays where you made it.

• Preferences

  Whether you prefer stepping through an evaluation or seeing the result immediately, and the smaller display settings around that choice.

• Lesson progress

  Which stages of the pipeline you have worked through, so the app can open where you left it rather than at the beginning.

• Saved examples

  Expressions from the curated library that you have marked to come back to.

Sent elsewhere = none

This branch is empty and stays empty. No cloud backup, no synchronisation between devices, no leaderboard, no telemetry, no advertising network, no third-party software development kit of any description beyond the Android platform itself.

Google Play delivers and updates the package; what Google records around that is described in Google's own privacy policy and happens outside anything we can see or influence. Nothing about it flows back to us beyond a count of installations.

Pruning the branch yours to do

Clearing history inside the app empties that leaf. Android Settings → Apps → Treecalc → Storage → Clear data empties all four at once, and uninstalling removes the folder entirely. None of it involves us, because we keep no duplicate — which cuts both ways: there is nothing to ask us to erase, and nothing we could restore if you wish you had kept it.

What the app asks of Android = none

Not one permission is declared. No storage, camera, microphone, location or contacts access at install or during use. Settings → Apps → Treecalc → Permissions shows an empty list, which for a calculator is what it ought to show and rather rarely does. A prompt asking you to grant something means you are running a build that is not ours; refuse it and tell us where it came from.
